2020 and the 11th AVDP, in the era of Covid-19 times.
For the 4th consecutive year, our studio created the annual visual identity of Athens Video Dance Festival. This year the exhibition took place online only, due to the limitations and conditions of the Covid pandemic period.
After these past years working with the organisation consolidating the AVDP brand name, we decided to bank on the rich heritage of the festival institution to design the new identity, AVDP 11th. We showcased the initial leτters of the festival’s name AVDP, creating an artistic composition on a visually animated environment.
Because of the Covid situation AVDP 11th was the first international Video & Dance festival in the country that took place online. We took advantage of this fact and turned the brand into a vivid animated scenery, blending colours and lightning effects to design the communication and advertising material of the festival.
The perspective view of the logo is defining the three dimensions of the web environment. The stacked positioning of “one letter on top of the other”, is getting across the idea of the video files (artists) the viewer can review through his navigation on the digitised festival.
This year’s AVDP image is characterised by the rich alternation of colour shades – different blends on each category – without disturbing the communication roots of the festival’s Identity.
